What Grief Revealed...

Happy June, Beautiful Soul,

As June comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on a month that stretched my heart, deepened my faith, and reminded me that even grief can become one of our greatest teachers.

As I put pen to paper, my heart is filled with gratitude.

Even in the midst of grieving the passing of my Grandmother, Hellen Rose Maddox—the original Rose—I find myself returning to the lessons she modeled every day: faith, authenticity, gratitude, and choosing love. She lived a beautiful 93 years, and even now, her legacy continues to teach me.

As I reflect on these past several weeks, I realize my gratitude extends far beyond the memories we shared. I am grateful for the opportunity to embody the principles that have become anchors in my own life.

Each day, I intentionally strive to live The Four Agreements—being impeccable with my words, thoughts, and actions; choosing not to make assumptions; refusing to take things personally; and doing my best, while honoring that my "best" naturally ebbs and flows.

Living this way isn't about perfection.

It is about intention.

When I remain divinely aligned with who God created me to BE, I find the courage to move audaciously—not because life is easy, but because I trust where He is leading me. Choosing an abundant mindset reminds me daily that all is well and working for my highest good, even when circumstances suggest otherwise.

Then life invited me to practice everything I believe.

The activities, conversations, and experiences over the past two weeks reaffirmed the importance of knowing thyself.

Knowing thyself isn't simply about recognizing your strengths. It is understanding your patterns, honoring your values, recognizing your triggers, and choosing your response before life chooses it for you.

As I intentionally applied The Four Agreements alongside The Five Reiki Principles, the 3-PAUSE Self-Check-In, and my daily Anchor Prayer, I continually found my way back to center.

Those practices reminded me that many people engage from spaces of unresolved pain, accumulated frustration, disappointment, fear, or imbalance within their mind, body, spirit, and soul.

This is not a criticism.

It is simply a reminder of our shared humanity.

It is also a space I once lived in.

A space from which I once responded.

Intentionally continuing to heal, evolve, and ReleaZe those former versions of myself has created room for grace—grace for myself and grace for others.

The deeper we heal, the lighter we become—and the less we expect others to carry what belongs to our own healing journey. -Zendalannette

That realization alone has been one of June's greatest gifts.

Grief has a way of revealing much more than loss.

It reveals people.

It reveals patterns.

It reveals what lives within us.

Over the past several days, I found myself in spaces where emotions were elevated, communication became strained, and dysfunction quietly found its way into conversations and interactions. More than once, I realized that grief, stress, and unspoken pain were speaking louder than the words being exchanged.

That doesn't mean those moments weren't frustrating.

As a 6/2 Manifesting Generator with Emotional Authority, I recognize frustration as one of my not-self themes. Rather than viewing it as something negative, I now recognize it as a loving invitation to pause and become curious.

Instead of allowing frustration to determine my response, I ask myself:

What is this moment inviting me to understand?

That one question changes everything.

Rather than reacting to another person's behavior, I become curious.

  • What pain might they be carrying?

  • What fear lies beneath their words?

  • What truth has not yet been spoken?

  • What might I not yet understand?

Seeking understanding doesn't excuse unhealthy behavior.

It simply allows me to respond with intention rather than emotion.

I've discovered that one of the greatest gifts we can offer ourselves—and others—is the willingness to pause long enough to get to the heart of the matter before forming conclusions.

Curiosity creates space.

Space creates clarity.

Clarity nurtures compassion.

Compassion creates opportunities for healing.

This month reminded me that wellness isn't practiced only during Reiki, prayer, meditation, or moments of solitude.

Sometimes our greatest wellness practice is maintaining our peace while standing in the middle of life's most challenging moments.

As I reflect on my grandmother's extraordinary life, I realize one of the greatest gifts she gave me wasn't something she placed in my hands.

It was something she demonstrated every single day.

She never demanded that I become someone else.

She simply modeled what was possible through faith, authenticity, gratitude, and unconditional love.

I am forever grateful for the way she demonstrated a faithful walk with God and reminded me that each of us is called to cultivate our own authentic and personal relationship with Him.

She taught me the importance of loving myself.

Standing confidently in my authenticity.

Believing in who—and Whose—I am.

Those lessons have become anchors during this season.

Beautiful Soul... When frustration begins to rise, may it become your invitation to pause—not to withdraw, but to become curious.

Curiosity opens the door to understanding.

Understanding deepens compassion.

Compassion allows us to remain rooted in who we have chosen to BE, regardless of what surrounds us.

As June comes to a close, I realize my greatest lesson wasn't found in grief itself.

It was found in the extraordinary life of the woman we were honoring.

Her legacy reminds me that faith, authenticity, gratitude, compassion, and intentional living are not simply things we practice.

They become who we choose to BE.

May you continue choosing healing over hurt...

Curiosity over judgment...

Faith over fear...

Love over everything else.

May we all leave behind a legacy rooted in faith, authenticity, grace, compassion, intentional love, and the courage to live fully aligned with who God created us to BE.

Continue choosing Light.

Continue choosing Love.

Continue choosing You.

Mini Reiki Experience

Returning to Yourself

When life feels loud, remember this:

Peace is not found outside of you.

It begins within.

Find a comfortable seated position.

Gently close your eyes.

Place one hand over your heart and the other over your solar plexus.

Take three slow, intentional breaths.

Allow your shoulders to soften.

Relax your jaw.

That immediately settles the nervous system.

Give yourself permission to simply BE.

Allow yourself to move through the 3-PAUSE Self-Check-In.

PAUSE 1 — Notice

Without judgment, simply notice.

What thoughts are present?

What emotions are asking to be acknowledged?

Where do you feel them within your body?

PAUSE 2 — Receive

Invite Reiki to flow wherever it is needed most.

There is nothing to fix.

Nothing to force.

Simply receive what your mind, body, spirit, and soul are ready to receive in this moment.

PAUSE 3 — Choose

Ask yourself:

Who do I choose to BE in this moment?

Not based on someone else's behavior.

Not based on today's circumstances.

Simply based on the version of yourself you are intentionally becoming.

Take one final deep breath.

Wrap your arms around yourself in a loving embrace and softly affirm:

I choose peace over reaction.

I choose curiosity over assumption.

I choose grace over judgment.

I choose divine alignment.

I trust that all is well and working for my highest good.

Remain here for several breaths before gently opening your eyes.

Journal Reflection

Take a few quiet moments to reflect.

  • Where in my life am I being invited to respond rather than react?

  • Which of The Four Agreements is asking for my greatest attention today?

  • What truth within me is ready to be acknowledged with compassion?

  • How can I honor who God created me to BE, regardless of what surrounds me?

  • How is God inviting me to live more audaciously and in greater divine alignment during this season of my life?

Cheers to Healing, Evolving, & ReleaZing...

With Grace, Gratitude, & Love,
