My Calendar Looks Different—and So Do I

Hey, Beautiful Soul,
I hope this August finds you well and navigating what balanced wellness & well-BEing looks like for you.
As I continue moving through life day by day, I remain in awe of what it means to truly know thyself.
This time of year once meant preparing my children for the upcoming school year. From their early years through college, August had a familiar rhythm. There was always something to prepare for, somewhere to be, or someone to get ready.
In this season, it feels different.
I find myself in a season of deep transformation, healing, and reflection.
And my calendar looks different, too.
Where it once centered around getting everyone and everything ready, today my calendar is becoming more centered around the parts of me I had forgotten.
Even writing that feels significant.
The things that bring me joy. The things that spark my curiosity. The people who pour into me as I pour into them.
And sometimes, simply BEing.
This August, I enjoyed the annual Blamping experience with Collect & Recover. I went to the driving range with my husband. I’ve spent time studying my Human Design and exploring how it aligns with the CliftonStrengths assessment I completed way back in 2002.
Talk about getting to know thyself.
I’ve spent quality time with my tribe while intentionally sowing into my clients and my business.
And I’m realizing…
My calendar isn’t empty.
It’s aligned differently.
There is still work. There are still responsibilities. There are still people I love and care for deeply.
But there is also me.
Alignment Looks Different
I’m noticing moments when the old me would have made a hard pivot to meet someone else’s needs. Rearranged something. Stepped in. Figured it out.
Because I could.
And because, for a long time, that’s what I did.
Today, I’m learning that just because I can doesn’t always mean I’m supposed to.
WOW.
It doesn’t mean I stop caring, serving, or showing up.
It means I matter, too.
My joy matters.
My time matters.
My energy matters.
And I’m learning to trust God enough to know that I don’t have to make everything happen.
Maybe that’s part of what alignment looks like for me now.
Not doing less for the sake of doing less, but becoming more intentional about where I place my time, energy, and attention.
There are fewer hard pivots and more intention around how and where I spend my time.
There is more room for what makes me smile, deepens my relationships, nurtures my spirit, and allows me to continue discovering me.
I’m no longer leaving myself off the list.
And for the woman who is still in that season of preparing, caring, tending, and making sure everyone else has what they need, I encourage you to intentionally make space for you, too... daily.
You don’t have to wait for the children to grow up, the calendar to slow down, or life to enter a different season.
We can care for others and take care of ourselves.
Mind. Body. Spirit.
There is space for both.
Audacity Is Evolving, Too
For years, audacity looked like movement for me.
Making the decision. Taking the leap. Speaking up. Choosing myself. Putting me 1st.
I needed that version of myself.
She helped me get here.
Today, audacity can look different.
It can look like discernment. Rest. Reflection. Curiosity. Choosing joy. And being intentional about what—and who—receives my time and energy.
There is audacity in creating a life that has room for the people I love, the work I’m called to do, my relationship with God…and me.
Beautiful Soul, what parts of yourself have you forgotten?
What would your calendar look like if there were space for you on it?
Maybe it’s not about clearing your calendar.
Maybe it’s about looking at what’s on it and asking:
Does the life I’m scheduling reflect the life I actually want to live?
This August, mine is beginning to.
My calendar looks different.
And when I really think about it…
So do I.
Not because I’ve become someone entirely new.
But because I’m continuing to remember, uncover, love, and make space for more of who God created me to BE.
Maybe that’s what Evolved & Evolving is all about.
Not arriving.
Not having it all figured out.
But continuing to have the audacity to make space for yourself along the way.
And Beautiful Soul, if you’re desiring tools—or additional tools—for your wellness & well-BEing Toolbox, The Audacity To Be… offers mini practices, affirmations, and a 21-Day Wellness & Well-BEing Plan to support you in choosing yourself and creating intentional space for your Mind, Body & Spirit.
