The Power of the PAUSE

The sting reminded me: PAUSE before you push. Presence will always spare you unnecessary pain.  


Hey Beautiful Soul,


Sometimes we need to PAUSE and recognize when enough is enough.


Last Sunday, while mowing the lawn, I felt a subtle poke—then sudden discomfort. Within seconds, bees swarmed around me. Multiple stings later—me swiping, yelling, and rubbing in every direction—I was left in pain.


Grateful I wasn’t allergic, I began tending to my wounds and reflecting. My striving for a “perfect lawn” had disturbed an underground hive. If I had simply PAUSED, I might have noticed the signs, avoided the chaos, and spared both them and myself.


Life has a way of teaching us through these moments. When we push past the signals to slow down, we often stir up unnecessary pain. The gift is in learning to stop, breathe, and reset.

🐝 The Lesson Beneath the Sting

That buzzing chaos mirrored life itself—when we ignore the whispers and keep pressing forward. The poke was the first nudge. The sting was the final message. Life will always call us back to balance—even if it must do so through discomfort.


This is where the PAUSE becomes sacred. The PAUSE is presence. It keeps us from letting perfection and over-doing lead us into unnecessary struggle.

🪬 Mini Reiki Practice: The Power of the PAUSE

  1. Gasshō (Hands at Heart) – Place your palms together, close your eyes, and take three deep breaths. Feel your energy center and invite presence.

  2. The Gentle Scan – Slowly scan your body, noticing where tension, tightness, or urgency sits. Whisper inwardly: “I choose to pause.”

  3. The Reiki PAUSE Breath – Inhale to the count of 4. Hold gently for 4. Exhale slowly for 6. Repeat 3 cycles. Imagine golden light soothing any area calling for rest.

  4. Affirmation – Place a hand on your heart and affirm: “I honor the sacred pause. I choose presence over perfection, stillness over struggle.”


Journaling Prompts

  1. Where in your life are you being nudged to pause, step back, or let something rest—even if your instinct says to keep pushing?

  2. Where might you be striving for “perfection” and unintentionally stirring chaos rather than creating calm?

  3. What does “enough is enough” look like for you in this season of life?
