Embracing Light, Love, and the Journey to Authenticity
In everything and everyone, there is both good and bad. Yet, we hold the power to choose to BE Good, DO Good, and embody Light & Love. This resonates deeply with the concept of the Dark Mother Archetype.
"The Dark Mother Archetype, found in various mythologies and psychological theories, symbolizes the shadow side of motherhood. While the nurturing mother gives life and love, the Dark Mother represents control, overprotection, and emotional manipulation. These behaviors, often rooted in unhealed wounds, can harm rather than nurture those we love."
As a mother, I intended to lead with love, but there were times when the negative aspects of the Dark Mother took over. Overworked and overextended, I sought validation from external sources. Exhausted, I would sometimes ignore my children or respond with frustration. These actions, stemming from unwellness, reflected self-imposed suffering, control, and a lack of faith. My behavior taught my children what unwellness looked like—not through words, but through actions.
Recognizing this now allows me to intentionally heal the remnants of the Dark Mother’s influence on my sacred parental relationships. These moments, once so easily destroyed, are now opportunities for transformation.
We often think of parenting as a journey from birth to age 18, but in reality, motherhood is a lifelong responsibility. Doing the work—continuing to do the work—enables me to heal the parts of myself that negatively impacted my children.
As I move through various spaces, I’ve witnessed motherhood in action. Recently, while sitting in church, I saw a mother react to something being preached. She turned her body and put her face into her daughter’s, in a punitive way. Her intention was likely rooted in love, but the action may have conveyed judgment and a lack of respect. The potential embarrassment her daughter felt could have lasting consequences.
As mothers, we have the opportunity to instill greatness, humility, respect, and audacity in our children. Yet, when we conform to societal expectations, we risk causing negative ripple effects in their future.
THE AUDACITY TO BE: A Journey from Misalignment to Authenticity,
Wellness & Well-BEing…
My dream and vision lie in connecting with others for intentional impact through bold, radical, and purposeful curations. As someone passionate about the well-being of BIPOC women and men, I envision a world where we fully embrace our authenticity using well-being tools, practices, and modalities.
This vision didn’t emerge from ease; it came from living a life out of alignment. For years, I overextended myself, neglected my needs, and ignored deep-rooted trauma. This trauma, embodied in my Dark Mother archetype, negatively impacted my children, now young adults. The weight of this unhealed pain manifested as obesity, depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. Realizing something had to change, I knew the transformation had to start from within.
The Path to Healing
My journey toward wellness began when I recognized my disconnection from my true self. Pouring into others while neglecting my wounds only deepened the pain that dictated my actions. The tipping point came when I could no longer ignore the impact of my unhealed trauma on my life and my children’s lives.
I found healing through Reiki, energy work, and chakra education. These practices became the foundation of my return to myself, allowing me to address the deep pain that had weighed me down. As I healed, I felt called to share these tools with others, guiding them on their own paths to wholeness.
The Role of Reiki in My Transformation
Reiki, in particular, has been instrumental in my healing journey. As a Reiki Master, I’ve come to understand the profound impact energy work can have on our well-being. Reiki helped me heal from past traumas, giving me the clarity and strength to stand boldly in my truth. I am now committed to expanding energy healing through virtual and in-person Group Reiki experiences, offering a safe space for individuals to reconnect with their inner selves.
Living a Life in Color
Alongside Reiki, I embrace ‘Life in Color,’ a holistic approach to nurturing the self through the 7-Core Chakras. When I practice, I’m often drawn to specific colors that resonate deeply with me. I allow these colors to guide me, focusing on how they connect to my 7-core chakras and align with various parts of my body. This organic connection not only enhances my well-being but also deepens my practice, allowing for greater balance and harmony within. By choosing foods and colors intentionally, we support our chakras, creating harmony within our bodies and minds.
A Mission Rooted in Transformation
My mission is rooted in my transformation. Having experienced the depths of misalignment, I’m dedicated to empowering others to reclaim their well-being and live authentically. We all have the power to heal, unlearn societal domestication, and stand proudly in our truth. Through Reiki, chakra education, and daily wellness practices, we can navigate life with grace, purpose, self-love, and AUDACITY.
